With an impressive range of styles and genres, Steve's Band covers The Standards, The Motown, The Rock, The Contemporary and a variety of ethnic sounds too. Steve Bill is the conductor for the most prominent artist in contemporary Jewish music, Avraham Fried. Island Breeze features the beautiful sounds of Steelpans, along with bass, drums, percussion, guitar and vocals. If you’d like to create the relaxing atmosphere of your favorite island, then this is the ensemble for you.
The band is extremely versatile and is the key to its success. They offer lively background music at a volume that will not interfere with socializing. Or they can charge up a party with high-energy dance music. The band performs in various sizes from a duo to an 8 piece ensemble. Solo Steel Drummers are also available. The band will arrive at least one hour before the event to set up. We bring our own P.A. system and all necessary equipment. The usual attire is white pants and tropical shirts (unless there is another preference.)
Island Breeze has been active in the New York area since 1995 for weddings, country clubs, corporate events, yacht clubs and other private events. They are an awesome option for lunchtime café.

Renato Thoms Musical Director for Sensacíon.
Born in Colon, Panama, Renato began his music training at the Conservatory of the National Univeristy of Heredia in Costa Rica. After earning a bachelor or music performance degree at Berklee College of Music, Renato received his Master of Music degree in Jazz studies at The Boston Convservatory in 1998. He also received the Berklee College of Music Professional Performance Division Latin Percussion Music Award.
Renato has performed with numerous Latin Jazz musicians including Pete Conde Rodriguez, Ricky Martin, Ruben Blades, Eddie Palmieri, Ray Vega, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jon Lucien, Victor Mendoza and a host of others.
As ensemble leader and musical director of Sensacíon, Renato brings an uncanny ability and range of music to your event. His adaptable personality and musical talent puts him in the top 1% of Latin Percussionists in the world.
